COVID19

We have taken a risk assessment and put into place even tighter cleaning controls. We will be seating B&B guests in separate rooms for breakfast unless they are family groups.

We ask our guests to use the hand sanitiser or wipes provided before entering the building.

As part of our normal booking procedure covers guest’s contact details, you will not need to fill in a registration card on arrival.

Should you have any COVID symptoms prior to a trip to Hill House, we are happy to reschedule your booking, and should you develop any symptoms after leaving us - please do let us know.

In the unfortunate circumstance you should become unwell during a stay with us, we would ask that you return home as soon as is possible, so that we can maintain the safety of other guests.

GENERAL POLICIES

Check in / Check out times

Our normal check in is from 4pm – 10.30pm Our normal check out time is before 10.30am. We are happy to discuss alternative times – do contact us to see how we can help before you book.

Parking for Main House guests is in the old yard, Glamping guests have dedicated parking to the right of the drive (signed Nest & Lookout). Please note there is a very short walk over lawn to The Lookout.

MAIN HOUSE GUEST NOTES:

We are a small B&B, with one person doing everything… so we appreciate the time we have when our guests are out for the day to service and prepare rooms, clean and cook, shop etc – most B&Bs expect guests to be out having a fun time exploring the local area during the day. We are always back before 4pm, so that you can rest and change for supper. Should you want to stay in during the day, do let us know when you book and we can often accommodate your request if we know in advance, or suggest you book our self catered accommodation.

Cancellation Policy

Bookings cancelled more than 14 days in advance will be given a full refund. Bookings cancelled less than 14 days ahead will not receive a refund. If we are able to let cancelled bookings we are happy to refund guests. Please note our COVID policy which supersedes this advice if we are in a government enforced Lockdown.

Data Protection

No personal data is stored electronically and we never sell or share personal information. No credit card details are ever held or accessed by us, as payments are always handled via e-invoices via iZettle. Booking details are only stored as paper copies, which are stored securely for one year, then destroyed. Should you wish us to keep you updated of offers, please ask to be added to our mailing list. We rarely send mail shots, so we can guarantee you won’t get snowed under by unwanted emails!

Pet Policy

MAIN HOUSE

Because we have our own pets (dog and cats), and keep the bedrooms pet free for allergy sufferers we do not accept pets in the house. We are however happy for guests to keep dogs in their cars, and walk them in the garden as long as any ‘deposits’ are cleared up responsibly. Alternatively two miles away there is a beautifully appointed boutique dog hotel called Bath Country Pets where your beloved pooch will be utterly pampered: do book ahead as it is very popular! A note for guests attending Badminton Horse Trials - dogs are not allowed in the main arena or Portcullis Club.

SHEPHERDS HUTS

Glamping guests are welcome to bring one well behaved dog (small to medium size as the Shepherds huts are not designed for very large dogs!) Please note that we are next to a working farm, so your dog must be kept under control. Your dog must not be left alone in the Shepherds Hut - doggy day care is available from Bath Country Pets (see above). The old orchard or garden may be used to exericse your furry friend - please clear up any little deposits and place in the bin provided.

Children

Due to the nature of our property and it’s location next to a working farm, we do not accept children under 12. We do not have family rooms for this reason.

Recycling

We aim to be as environmentally friendly as we can, as a result we do not change linen for B&B guests during a two night stay. Should B&B guests wish to have clean towels, please leave them in the bath, and we will provide fresh ones. We no longer stock the rooms with bottled water, filtered water is provided instead. Should you wish to have water to take on walks, or outings, please do bring a water bottle / flask – we are always happy to refill them. All cold taps provide drinking water.

Wifi

Guests are welcome to use our WiFi network - access details can be found in your handbook.

Disabled Access

Sadly we are not able to accommodate guests who are not able to walk upstairs comfortably, as currently all our bedrooms are on the first floor and there is no lift.

Specific Shepherd Hut Policies

We are very proud of our huts, a great deal of love and time has gone into them, and we and take great care of them, should you break or damage anything, or if there are any problems, please let us know straight away. Please note any major damages will be billed - we are happy to absorb little accidents - they happen to everyone - but are easier to fix if we know about it!
