Food is something of an obsession. We believe that what you eat is important, so we only use premium quality local or specially sourced products:

Our delicious sausages and bacon come from Jon Howell Butchers in Chipping Sodbury, next door to our bread supplier – the famous and fabulous Baker brothers – Hobbs House.

Our smoked salmon comes from the Isle of Ewe Smokehouse at Aultbea on the West coast of Scotland, again, they are wonderful small scale producers who really care, using larch and oak from Whisky barrels to smoke their products – We think it is rather special.

Our current coffee is Indian Bibi, which is roasted by our lovely suppliers in Devon: Another Coffee.  Carolyn and Gavin are passionate about their product and are wonderful at keeping us up to date with the latest new coffee beans and teas. We grind our beans fresh for each cup of coffee… noisy, but worth it!

Eggs come from local organic free-range hens at Bath Country Pets; you might chose to discover the delights of Aga fried eggs, which require no oil to cook… healthy and delicious!

Fruit juices are freshly squeezed to order and the marmalade is Helen’s special recipe which includes a rather generous sploosh of whisky!

We ask you to select your breakfast the night before, this significantly helps us to reduce food waste and means that your chosen breakfast is ready for you when you come downstairs.

Helen has been cooking on Agas and Rayburn cookers for over 20 years, if you are a new Aga or Rayburn owner you might enjoy an Aga beginners cookery lesson in the spacious Mcarron designed kitchen, or you might like to book in for one of the many courses that are arranged throughout the year.
